Dr. Allison McKay moved to San Diego after two years of working as a traveling physical therapist in various parts of the country as well as working in various settings. Once she settled in San Diego Dr. Allison returned to her passion of working in Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapy here at The Physical Therapy Effect.
Allison studied physical therapy at Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts where she graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. In the time since graduation, Allison has had the opportunity to take multiple courses and is also working towards her manual therapy certification through NAIOMT. Allison has taken advanced training classes in Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, which she puts to use as the lead Physical Therapist for The Physical Therapy Effect’s Women’s Health Rehabilitation Program. She passionate about assisting women return to their lives without Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
When not in the clinic Allison enjoys spending her free time traveling or outdoors either running, hiking, playing soccer or skiing. She can also be found walking her French Bulldog “Jax.”
